Three Hanoi tourists rescued off Quang Ngai beach

Three tourists from Hanoi, including a father and his two children, were rescued after a rip current swept them out to sea at My A Beach in Quang Ngai Province on Saturday.

Rescue officials said the incident occurred at about 10.30 am, when the three were carried beyond the designated swimming area. They managed to cling to a lifebuoy and signal for help.

A local rescue team, border guards and nearby residents reached the victims and brought them safely back to shore.

Authorities said the family had been visiting Quang Ngai during the summer holiday.

The rescue came a day after lifeguards at My A Beach saved four people whose fishing net boat was caught in a rip current.

Residents and visitors are urged to follow lifeguards' instructions and avoid swimming in areas affected by rip currents or rough seas.
